Hi Vikas,
I hope you are running RH 6.2. Of course there is a "browsing window" which
opens by default when you login to the GNOME session. It looks quite similar
to windoz exploder.You can actually browse through all your file systems
using this. Any task that you start should appear at the GNOME task bar as a
"button/icon" you can click on this to minimize or maximize the window. If
you can see the GNOE taskbar but unable to see the task icons, I feel you
may have to customize the GNOME taskbar. You should right click on the
taskbar, and you should get the options for customizing your GNOME taskbar.

When I minimize windows it disappears from the desktop completle :-(
