I have several R.H. servers that seem to intermittently have their Ethernet connection dropped by my switch. The server operates without knowing the outside cannot connect to it (ifconfig shows the Ethernet card operational, yet I cannot connect to the server from the outside). After issuing a route/ping command from the console, the switch re- establishes my connection. Is there a configuration to one of the network daemons that will test the connection and re-establish if disconnected, or tell the switch to maintain the connection?.
