    In that case, you might consider learning how to make rpms from existing
    packages.  It's not terribly difficult, and I've personally found it to be
    extremely useful when trying to keep system administration non-complex.

    There are features since added to rpm that are not listed in the book,
    Maximum RPM, but ChangeLog, mailing lists, and newsgroups can help when
    needed.
