I just installed RH 6.1 on a brand new machine, an Aptiva 572. I was able to set
up the dual-boot with Windows 98 and Linux selectable from LILO.
Unfortunately, Linux does not recognize my 56K modem that came bundled with my new machine. Windows 98 that came pre-loaded does. It is a Rockwell HCF v90 Data Fax PCI modem on Com2 port 02f8 IRQ 3. I checked the web-site of Conexant, the maker of the chip-set, but they only have Windows-based drivers.
I am now limited in my ability to run Linux, if I can't dial out.
Any ideas?
