I have 3 PC's, no hub at all. Just use rg58 coax as all i wanted was
file/printer sharing and had some old gear to work with. Two boxes have
realtek 8029 PCI cards (10mbit) and one has and old intel ether express
I got as junk (amazed it worked). Server is a P120 running Mandrake 6.1,
the other PC is a win 95/rh5.2 dual boot and another is a RH6.0 that
just runs squake at the moment.

I have Samba, nfs, ftp and even apache going (experimenting). works well
and I find the coax network is fine for a small network and 10mbit was
quick enough for what I needed. Worked out really cheap.

Don't have the internet sharing set up. Still reading the ip-masq docs
and trying to get my head around it. Starting to get there, but if
anyone wants to give me some hints and pointers, feel free :-) I have a
dialup PPP conection and would like to get the other machines on line
one day. Haven't looked at daild yet.
