Well, I've been working with a document, a multi-part book, that I had created under SunOS/Solaris. While one cannot make PDF files with this release, as Distiller is not available, you can make a PostScript file that is Distiller ready. One of my sections caused an immediate crash of FrameMaker when trying to create said file. Creating a plain PostScript file works just fine. But, there is a major problem, which I have reported to Adobe. If any of the files that make up the book contain an underscore, i.e., name_section.fm, the "_section" part of the filename will be removed from all hypertext links. This means when you click on a link, it will look for "name.pdf". Oops. The underscore is not an illegal character in Unix filenames, yet Adobe throws it, and all remaining characters, up to the period in the extension, away. Not good. The last thing I want to do is rename all my files and rebuild the book. Other than the above, the program is working very well indeed. Much better than using it under Windoze. I've put back in my personal Command files and added my personal fonts, so I'm back to where I was under Solaris. This program beats word any day, hands down.
