x problems

I got the XFCom_128 server installed, but when I type startx and X starts, it 
runs at an extremely low resolution.  I've run xf86config, and configured 
everything properly, but it won't run at a higher res.  Any suggestions?
Running an ATI Rage 128 agp card,, and stock red hat 6.1.
