Hi Alex Maybe this is what you need........ http://www.redhat.com/legal/y2k_statement.html you dont say if the mail server is your responsibility for a company, or yours as like a hobby you run. If its for work, then your companies Y2K planning is in KAOS as maxwell smart would say.........but if its for home, as I suspect then the issue can be attacked in a methodical way. Hardware needs to be tested and tested under some easily created conditions, get a hardware tester, and run it to see results, also if you have a DOS boot floppy, use it to boot the system and set the time in the future (say 01-01-2001) then re boot with the DOS diskette, see if the time and date have changed at all, if yes you have a hardware issue, if no you *may not* have a hardware issue, this is by no means an exhaustive test and is only meant to be a pointer. As for the software, read whatever you can on RH site and in the archives, also read about any issues, if any, on the mail servers web site, whatever that server may be, to learn about specific issues to that software. You can always wait and see what it does if its a non critical box, and if it goes haywire the upgrade to a supported version if its a software only issue. Happy Christmas all......and a great Y2K ! I know what I will be thinking of on the virge of the year 2000 , and my mobile phone will be off ! ;-) *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 18/12/99 at 23:40 Manoj Alex wrote: >Hello, > > >Is REdHat 5.0 is Y2K complaint?
