Hi Chaps, There has been a fair bit of discussion on this list about different problems with some graphics cards and, in particular, SiS cards. A visit to www.xfree86.org this afternoon paid huge dividends for me. They quoted some information about work down by Suse in writing alternative X servers for these and other cards to resolve some of the problems. I downloaded the relevant X server for my card (in RPM format)and followed the destructions to install it. I then remmed the Option "no_bitblt" in my XF86Config file and typed in startx and "wunderbar" as they probably say at Suse. No drawing errors, normal windows without wobbles and xterm as clear as anything. They do Xservers for a number of "problem" cards and they use a symlink to direct the existing XF86Config file to the new server using the old server name. Thus changes to the file are minimal. It runs right out of the box! Well it did for me. I hope this helps others who've suffered problems with their cards. It's early days yet, but if anything goes amiss, I will post back to the list to let you know. Regards, Steve -- To unsubscribe: mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe" as the Subject.
