I have heard alot lately about qmail, and a whole lot of people saying its
better.
I friend who works for @home of mine said it was very nice to configure when
you get into some rather complicated configs.
Much easier than the NIGHTMARE sendmail.cf file.. i have never used qmail,
but i think ill havet to try it now..
I have found sendmail 8.9.3 very easy to use (once you know it) thank GOD i
have not had to TOUCH the sendmail.cf file.
A fellow linux guru of mine takes care of that. His def of someone who plays
in the sendmail.cf file is that the person is allways highly medicated and
allowed 4 visitors a week, hehe..

Is is still true more than half the mail servers in the world (or atleast
USA) still run sendmail ? Or has this changed?

Your friend is smart.. An excellent choice. I just recently brought up a
new box recently, and at the suggestion of Chuck Mead, am running postfix
on it. While I was very happy with qmail, I'm even more impressed with
postfix. Very configurable, very fast too.

: Just wanted to know if anyone here had experiences with it?

Yes, very good ones.

: Anything particular things to take note while configuring it?

Yes, how long it takes you to get it done. Hint: it will be about 5 minutes
before you've got a functioning mail server...
