I'm new enough to the *nixes to find vi intimidating, although I can
fumble my way through a simple edit.

I probably do 90% of my editing with Pico, partly because of familiarity
via Pine.  I usually use it with the -w argument, which is a little less
readable but avoids line wrapping hassles.

The KDE Advanced Editor (available under Gnome) is not bad.  Have
started using that for HTML.

I really love the Win based shareware editor NoteTab Pro . . . I'd pay
good money for an equivalently functioning text editor in Linux/X.  If
anyone knows of one, I'd love to hear about it.
