Everybody, thank you very much for your help...

        So far,

Portmap and nfs and other packages on both sides are up to date. Exports
file is okay, and connection is established...

Its on a 100MB switched ether, and the transfer rate suddenly dropped to
4.4Kbytes/s... Not good, that is why "NFS server not responding" though
ping speeds are okay (1ms)

Is this a network problem or is this a linux problem??? If pings are
okay, can I assume that it is linux ether? Or good pings dont necessarily
mean good throughput?

I will try to play around with the network, but somebody has mentioned
earlier that a similair thing has happened on his network as well... 

Any more ideas?
