Because it is working fine on all my > unix boxes that have search chamkila.org in their /etc/resolv.conf and my > dns server as their nameserver.. > You don't mention which version of Windows you are using but windows has to be configured to search the DNS domain as well (just like you configured your *nix boxes by updating resolv.conf) On Windows 2000 for instance you go into the Advanced tab of TCP/IP properties in control panel and you'll see a box : DNS suffix for this connection and you can fill in chamkila.org. Just above this box is an option to search a list of suffixes rather than just one.
