Hi Allan,

        I tried to recreate your problem by deleting the icon from the
notification area. This is how I got it back. Add the Notification Area
to the panel if it's not already there (Right click->Add to
Panel->Utility->Notification Area). Then select 'Red Hat Network Alert
Icon' from Menu->System Tools.
