Thank you very very very much :)  Before when I went to font it was set to
medium.  When I went back in and hit custom it didn't prompt me to pick a
font.  I went in and custom was already check marked from before.  I hit it
anyway and it gave me the screen asking what font.  I used fixed as you
suggested and all is well.  Thanks.

Hrmm? You don't change the console font in your XFree86 config.

Open a Konsole window, and click settings->font->custom
Mine shows monospace regular 10

This is Red Hat 8.0, (KDE 3.03) it should be similar in other releases.

Using a variable width font will give output similar to your report.
