On the server you're having problems with, did you check to make sure that the proper startup was set for VNCSERVER? Generally, after you KNOW that VNCSERVER is running (especially after double-checking the /etc/sysconfig/vncservers file) you run vncpasswd as whatever user you're going to run it as - then restart vncserver (service vncserver --full-restart) then check the ~/home/yournamegoeshere/.vnc folder and the script inside (xstartup) so that it appears alright...you can modify that to your liking. Mine states: !/bin/sh # Red Hat Linux VNC session startup script exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ...but you can substitue the last line with startkde ...if you so desire... (It would appear as though you're getting VNC to start either TWM or MWM) HTH! -- Wed, 5 Feb 2003 22:00:00 +1100 10:00pm up 4:35, 4 users, load average: 0.00, 0.08, 0.19 ------------------------------------------------------------------ | __ __ | kuhn media australia | | / ,, /| |'-. | http://kma.0catch.com | | .\__/ || | | |=================================| | _ / `._ \|_|_.-' | stephen kuhn | | | / \__.`=._) (_ | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | |/ ._/ |"""""""""| | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | |'. `\ | | | icq: 5483808 | | ;"""/ / | | | | | smk ) /_/| |.-------.| | mobile: 0410-728-389 | | ' `-`' " " | Berkeley, New South Wales, AU | ------------------------------------------------------------------ linux user:267497 * RH 8.0 * PC/Mac/Linux/Networking/Consulting ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1 + 1 = 3, for large values of 1. -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
