There MAY be an alternative on the horizon. In the OS/2 world we now have
the Win32-OS2 Project which has released an alpha PE2LX converter-converts
win32 apps into native OS2 apps. The whole project was started based on
the question: Would it be possible to convert win32 apps into OS2 AND/OR
Linux apps? At this stage, it is directed at OS/2 but there has been
rumblings of trying it with Linux. It MAY be possible to convert apps
rather than run emulators.
