***Please don't get upset because I sent this message to two different
lists****

An 'rpm -q rpm' gives me: 'rpm-2.4.10-1glibc'. When new rpms are
released, do I have to update this version of rpm before installing new
RPMs?
I installed RH5 recently, and am having a hell of a time upgrading some
packages. I can't upgrade my kernel (from 2.0.31 to 2.0.32) and the ld.so
packages, for
example, according to the errata for Intel/5.0.

When I try to show the packages that are available, only a few showed up.
These were upgrades to packages that I already had. If I try to
install/upgrade them, I just get:

error: cannot install rpm...

I've tried --force, and other things, but they don't want to go in.

I can't figure it out...Am I missing something?
