xmcd uses the (commercial) Motif interface, but is GPL'ed
So you can d/l the source and compile, provided that you
have either Motif or lesstif (the latter being a free
implementation of Motif). 

It will definitely work with the pre-compiled binary --
it's statically linked with the motif libraries, so you'll
only need X in order to run it :)

And BTW, I just remembered that TCD needs GTK, http://www.gimp.org
but you probably have a gtk rpm already.
