Greetings

I've just begin to use Linux (seeing if I can replace NT as my primary
desktop app) and I wanted to get some Xwindows recommendations from the
masses. My usage of my box is as a desktop client, little or no server
activities are being done accept FTP and HTML for personal testing/use.
For me the os is just a platform to run tools. The tools are the key to my
productivity. I don't have allot of time to surf/download/try/remove a
bunch of stuff so I wanted to get opinions to narrow down my choices. MY
current tools of choice for NT are MS office 97, Allaire Homesite
3.0/Frontpage 98 for my HTML, Adobe Photoshop for graphics, GNU Emacs
sometimes (trying to learn it), Calypso for Email, NewsExpress for usenet,
CDValet for Music CDs, Pirch32 fir IRC and Gamespy/Quake2 for
entertainment.

So here's what I would like to get for RH 5.0
An email client that can read my email from my ISP's pop3 server that has
similiar functionality to say Outlook Express, Eudora Pro or Calypso. I
don't like Nets cape messenger as an email client.
A news reader that will read news from My isp's news server that is similar
to NewsExpress in features. Again I don't care much for Netscape here
A CD player that will query CDDB databases on the internet (I use CDValet).
A quake/quake2 utility that will find me some servers such as Gamespy.
A specialized HTML edititng tool.

Thanks for any help

Scott
