May be this is not an appropriate list to ask this question.
So, apologies for that in advance!
Does anyone know if it is possible to launch X-applications
(such as Netscape) from within a daemon (on a server running Linux)?
If it is possible, then please tell me how to do it.
If not, please let me know the exact reasons.
Personally, I think it may not be possible, because
these applications require:
a) the X-server to be running
b) and assuming even if the X-server is running,
they need to be attached to some terminal. But
the daemons, by it's nature is not attached to any
terminal.
Am I right?
