Hello, After building the latest bind (9.2.0-0.rc8.1) from source it did not install: rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i686/bind-*9.2.0-0.rc8.1.i686.rpm error: failed dependencies: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5) is needed by bind-9.2.0-0.rc8.1 libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5) is needed by bind-utils-9.2.0-0.rc8.1
No explicit dependency on GLIBC_2.2.5 was given by the source packaage: rpm -qp --requires bind-9.2.0-0.rc8.1.src.rpm rpmlib(VersionedDependencies) <= 3.0.3-1 tar >= 1.13.18 openssl-devel gcc glibc-devel libtool rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1 Using nm or objdump the symbol is visible: nm /lib/i686/libc.so.6|grep GLIBC_2.2.5 00000000 A GLIBC_2.2.5 How come it does not install? Installed: glibc-2.2.4-18 (-19 changelog only mentions strsep, no need to upgrade?), gcc-2.96-99, rpm-4.0.3-1.05 (patched 1.04 for python-2.2) _______________________________________________ Redhat-devel-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-devel-list
