yes this also happened to me until I recompiled my kernel to my specific
hardware requirement.
Someone please help out. I need to know why this happens too.

Subject: not reachable via network

BS"D

Hi,

I have the following phenomenon since RH-7.2 (enigma + roswell beta):

after ca. 1 hour no having typed or done anything on my machine it is
no longer reachable from outside via ssh, http etc. It does also not
responding to any ping etc.

Doing /sbin/arp -n from the next machine close to it I'll find no entry
of my IP on this side.

On my machine there's running a named daemon which also dies after
ca. 1 hour and in /var/log/messages I've found:

Oct 24 18:32:36 tunix named[874]: ifiter_ioctl.c:214: REQUIRE(iter->pos <
(unsigned int) iter->ifc.ifc_len) failed
Oct 24 18:32:36 tunix named[874]: exiting (due to assertion failure)

I first thought of my network devices 'n I changed them. I've tried
to compile the drivers as a module or to compile them into the kernel.
This makes no difference.

Any idea what this could be?

Thanx in advance,

Daniel.
