Well, 

1). I wanted to build a 2.4.3 kernel for the system anyway
2). Had a requirement for isdn usage and wasn't sure if isdn support was there 
by default
3). Needed to look at some ip routing / window size configs for a web cache at 
work

If you say that modular support is better for isdn then i'll configure it that
way.
