I have noticed in Red Hat 7 that there is far more use of prerequisites
which makes it impossible to install one thing with being required to
install a ton of other things. Take for example sendmail. If I install
sendmail, I have to install the kerberos stuff, the openldap stuff and who
knows what else. To install Gimp, I have to install the gtk libraries (which
is reasonable) but then it also wants the Gnome libraries which in turn
wants Orbit, Imlib, esound, yada, yada, yada. I tried installing php and
php-manual and the prereq for the php-manual is mod_php! Isn't this going a
little too far?
