Yes, I know, libc5 is ancient history. Glibc is the future. But when you
get this:
XYX:maimonides:~> ls -l /usr/local/wingz/bin/LINUX/WingzPro
-rwxr-xr-x 1 bin bin 6482892 Oct 15 1998
/usr/local/wingz/bin/LINUX/WingzPro*
XYX:maimonides:~> /usr/local/wingz/bin/LINUX/WingzPro
zsh: no such file or directory: /usr/local/wingz/bin/LINUX/WingzPro
XYX:maimonides:~> ldd /usr/local/wingz/bin/LINUX/WingzPro
/usr/bin/ldd: /usr/local/wingz/bin/LINUX/WingzPro: No such file or directory
well, you need libc5. (Yes, Wingz sucks, etc., but now you understand my
private hell.) I think I still have libc5 on a machine here that's been
upgraded steadily from 5.2, so I'll try to make a quick RPM and see how it
goes. But it would be nice to know if there's any official way left to
support apps linked against libc5, or just if Rawhide and beyond have any
hope of even running them.
