I agree absolutely - but unfortunately, it seems to be pretty much
impossible even to contact the maintainers about these things.
I'd agree that a fork is in order (both because of bugs and because of
some new features; I really think pgp4pine should be integrated), but I'm
not sure about the license conditions. There's some part about restricting
shipping of modified binaries, however, since they refer to the pine and
pico trademarks, it might be ok to do it if you change the name. (Check
this with someone who actually has a clue about legal stuff though).
