Some remarks for this:
1) I have been usig ppp and ethernet for months with no problem on
RedHat. You apparently got your routes wrong: eth0 must NOT be the
default route in the machine who is in contact with the Internet. In
this machine eth0 should route only to adresses in your LAN
2) If you switch to Mandrake then it would be far smarter to switch
to Mandrake 7.1 not Mandrake 6.
3) Mandrake did not seem to solve your mail problems since you are
posting with MSMail and polluting the list with a MIME/HTML
message. Please configure your mailer correctly and/or switch to a
Linux mail client.
