1. Well first of all RedHat is "freeware" as it is produced and released
under the GPL License.
2. It is the most reliable os available
3. Don't even try to search for something you can do on MS/Novel/OS2 but not
on Linux. It doesn't exist. Even if you do have to use tricks.
4. These tricks, for example combining the functionality of some programs,
work. On windows for example, not every program likes the other one. If that
happens on Linux, mail the appropriate coder. I'm sure he/she will try to
fix it and the new release will be available within a month (this speed
depends on the problem and the complexity of the program). On microsoft win.
you won't get an update, until a new release or service pack, released after
a year or even more.
5... I don't have the time to write tons of pages why Linux is better or
more reliable, but I assure you, that it is true. I don't say that the other
OSes are nothing but shit, I just say that Linux is much better in many
ways.
And if you search a little on the internet, you will find a lot of articles
about Linux vs Win or else. But pay attention, a lot of them, saying that
Win (or else) is better, are fakes. They took a configuration where Linux
couldn't even function normaly. If they would let a Linux user like the ones
writing messages in this mailinglist, configure there Linux Boxes, they
would surely be a lot better than the other os.
