Since when has source code constituted user documentation?


Actually, I did a grep over /usr/doc/rpm-<version>. I found one line in 
CHANGES that I examined. The reference in /usr/doc/rpm-3.0.5/macros simply 
didn't look relevant to command-line usage of rpm.

Now all you need is a couple of lines in the man page, and folk WILL be able 
to find it.


What about the other new rpm features? Such as just where --force is effective 
now? I have been told it means more than just this:

   --force
              Same as using --replacepkgs, --replacefiles, and --oldpackage.



Back in the days of RHL 3.0.3, we used to have quite good documentation on 
building RPMs. That has vanished, and I've never found a decent replacement 
(and I HAVE downloaded Maximum RPM twice, the second time since the advent of 
rpm 3; I found it unaltered from the first time).
