Dear User Community,

As many of you have noticed, changes were made recently to the way the
redhat-devel-list is managed within Red Hat. The changes were made as
part of a migration plan to move all Red Hat managed lists to a new
server running the GNU Mailman mailing list manager software (see
http://www.list.org). The migration addressed some technical issues with
the previous server/software and would allow us to provide you with a
full featured list, without the previous resource constraints. To find
out more about what features are available via Mailman, send an email
message to:

with the word `help' in the subject or body (don't include the
quotes), and you will get back a message with instructions.

It was our intention to migrate the list to the new server without
impacting any of the members of the list. In fact the change should
have been transparent to you. Unfortunately, some of the configuration
settings put in place caused some obvious differences in the appearance
of messages posted to the list. Two of these settings were that the
"X-Loop:" header was ommitted from the messages, and the introduction of
the "[Redhat-devel-list]" prefix to the Subject: lines of all messages.
This has caused much grief for many members of the list. I apologize
for the confusion this may have caused. In order to accomodate the User
Community, we have reintroduced the "X-Loop:" header. In addition, we
have removed the "[Redhat-devel-list]" prefix from the Subject: line. I
hope you have not been too inconvenienced during this interim period.
Please feel free to send any further suggestions/complaints to
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]".

Thank you for your time.
List Manager
