The other point I was trying to make was that you have to go *looking*
for any problems, rather than have nice warning/error messages staring
at you in the face right at the start.
Not clearing tty1 on bootup (and after subsequent logouts) surely
isn't such a big deal - especially since the output of the rc scripts
looks quite good. But I guess there are enough "purists" out there
who would jump up and down and complain enough to not allow this to
happen. End of story.
