Another conversion question.
I recompiled Apache 1.3.9 and Samba 2.06 on my Redhat 6.1. I used the
directories /usr/local/etc for the config files versus /etc. The
daemons are running quite nicely. However, I am wondering if this is
a mistake on my part. Redhat seems to like using /etc as the default
configuration directory. This makes me a bit nervous since loss of
the root directory "/" might also cause me to lose my configs.
Can anyone shed a little light on using /etc versus using
/usr/local/etc?
