We wrote the LinuxPPC X installer in gtk+perl which has worked very well.
I suppose I'm just a perl head without the ultimate python experience.

As we use the redhat installer for text based installs, I'm interested in
using the redhat one in future versions of our releases. I thought I would
mention that the one we have already performs redhat installs and is the
basis of our current release. It is working for people now and would work
for i386 versions with minor modifications( pdisk vs fdisk ).

The current version is at http://www.linuxppc.org/xli/ You will need
gtk+perl which is also there. In any case, perl with gtk has worked great.
