Cajun Shrimp Pasta

1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive  oil
1/2 white onion chopped
1 tablespoon garlic chopped
1/2 teaspoon  thyme
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black  pepper
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2  teaspoon Tabasco sauce
2 cups tomato peeled and diced
2 tablespoons  granulated sugar
1/2 cup green onions chopped
3 cups chicken broth
1  pound linguine
1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated

Sauté onion in olive oil for approximately four minutes then add garlic  
and stir.
Add thyme, cayenne, black pepper and basil then cook over low heat  for 5 
minutes.
Add everything else except pasta, shrimp and cheese then cook  over low 
heat 30 minutes.
Sauté shrimp in some butter and garlic for 5  minutes then add sauce and 
cook 2 minutes more.
Add cooked pasta and toss  well with grated cheese then serve hot.
