Pecan Casserole
1 (8 oz) pkg sausage patties
1 (16 oz) loaf raisin bread cubed
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups half & half
(or you can use all milk if you want)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup pkg brown sugar
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 T maple syrup
In a medium skillet, cook sausage patties. Drain off fat; cut patties
into bite size pieces. Spray 13x9 pan w/nonstick coating. Place bread
cubs into dish. Add sausage pcs to pan. In Lg mixing bowl, beat eggs,
milk, half &half, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Pour over bread &
sausage. Cover and refrigerate 8 hrs or overnite. Prepare topping: In a
bowl combine brown sugar, pecans, butter and syrup. Drip by tsps over
top of egg mixture just b/4 going into oven. Bake 350 degrees for 35-40
minutes or until knife inserted in middle comes out clean.
