I got this from Cajunlou on another group,, I thought it would be good
information to pass on,,,,,,

My mother used to say that rhubarb could kill you if you eat it
raw.I don't know if that is true or not, but that's what she used to say
She used to warn us kids to stay away from it, and she grew it away
from the rest of her garden. Is this true?
Sandra in Alabama

A: The leaves of the rhubarb are deadly. I haven't heard about the
rawness, but I would imagine the taste and tartness would stop you
dead in your tracks. Rhubarb cooked takes sugar to make it edible.
Both stalks and leaves are toxic to dogs and my horses wouldn't touch
it with a ten foot pole. Birds don't eat it so I would say, when in
doubt-leave it out of your mouth.

Umm That's why I don't eat any mushrooms either!
