I always found the hexagonal crimpers to not work well with the thinner lugs that we usually use for batteries.  The hex crimpers are good for the UL listed heavy wall lugs however.  I have a couple of different crimpers that work like the one below: indent on one side and V on the other.  That type works well for thinner wall lugs.  I have had a Greenlee model, and currently have a chinese one that is fine, its similar to this:

Friends:

More inverters these days present lugs for battery connections instead of studs. I bought some 2/0 and 4/0 ferrules to accommodate the fine stranded MTW we use. I have a cheap hex crimper but the results are poor with a sharp “wing” on either side of the crimp.

What does the hive mind suggest for a ferrule and crimper for these larger wire sizes?

Thanks in advance.
