I had a similar experience last year – the actual recycler really didn’t want
them – same reasons as you had, they did take them but would not pay as they do
conventional AGM or FLA batteries. Was a bummer since I thought we would have a
$ reward for packing 5,000 lbs of them off a small island. Intermediaries may
take them because they don’t know.

It’s so confusing

The info I got was from an OEM that does actual recycling/ melting.

I don’t know if other oems use similar ingredients

Jay,
I couldn't find anyone in the Reno area either so I went searching. Try
Batteryrecyclersofamerica.com 866.827.1830 I spoke to them last week and they
will schedule a truck to pick them up after I have them on a pallet ready for
shipment. Still waiting to find out what I need to do but I think it's just
wrapping them in plastic, making sure not to include too much weight and
possibly adding some decals. If they don't come thru I guess plan B might be to
flush them, get the lead out, and make more bullets for my 45 long colt (ought
to be several thousand rounds).

HI All

I just got back from my local recycler. He won’t take the GNB AGM batteries.
He said his ultimate buyer in california won’t buy them.

Has any one else seen this?

thanks
