Here's some EVs we put solar on.  Check out the Solrunner, the early one was a golf cart, then the other was a chinese UTV we converted.  I haven't done anything in a long time, but I recently got a Surron electric motor cycle, its a bunch of fun.  Li+ batteries make any EV much more usable. more range, lighter weight.  Lead acid is just rough, performance starts dragging as the voltage drops in the first few miles.

We clutched on LFP batteries because we see temps down to -30-40F.. And avoided large panels thinking smaller panels were more robust and could stack for higher a VOC.

I was going to agree and say going to lithium battery is actually a big boost in efficiency due to the high weight reduction.

Scott direct mounted the 60-cell module and used the Genesun controller that is a boosting controller.

I also did a similar project and I mounted the leftover 60-cell module to the roof with IronRidge XR10 rail to give a bit more compliance over bumpy trails. I also used the Genesun controller.

I love the Vatrer 36V battery, You can get a 48V (51.2V) version as well…

There are other brands of great batteries that drop in… especially if you have a SawzAll.

Has anyone done a conversion with a solar panel to replace the entire roof of a golf cart?

I would love to get some tips on that. I'm surprised a quick search did not bring up a lot of kits.
