Aloha All, Does anyone have experience with the RMA process for LG Solar Panels?
We maintain a 98.58kW system made up of 318 LG310NIC-G4 panels, though we did not install it. During our annual inspection, we identified two defective panels on one string. After a quick visual check of the surrounding section, we found 12 additional panels with similar defects. At first glance, it appears that water has penetrated the panels. We plan to conduct a thorough inspection next month and would like to prepare in advance by understanding what information LG requires and what their RMA process entails. While we’ve only installed a handful of LG panels over the years and haven’t encountered issues before, this is new territory for us. So far, I’ve reached out to *so...@lgsupport.com* and called *888-865-3026*, but I haven’t received a response yet. I also came across a 2021 LG RMA form, which outlines a rather detailed and time-intensive process. It is comparable to SolarEdge’s optimizer RMA process, requiring multiple photos, multimeter readings, and IR imaging for each affected panel. Can anyone confirm if this is still LG’s current process? For reference, the issue initially presented as a consistent early-morning ground fault warning at the inverter. Happy Holidays!
