Power supply costs have decreased considerably. Twenty-plus years ago, they
were about ten times the current cost. Now, you can get a 60v 5amp supply
for less than 90 dollars. For a bit more current, I like to use two 30-volt
ten-amp supplies (in Series).

When LFP batteries shut down due to low battery protection, they often
output less than 10 volts.

A standard battery charger often needs a minimum battery voltage to power
up. A few, like the Victron IP series battery chargers, have a power supply
mode, but most inverters/chargers need a minimum voltage to wake up.

Having a DC power supply is often needed to jump-start these lithium-based
batteries. Plug the power supply into the generator, set the power
supply to the nominal voltage, and usually, a few minutes to a few hours on
the regulated power supply will wake up the BMS.

If the customer has discharged the battery very low, or it's been in the
protection mode for a long time, it could take days to wake up; in these
cases, you need to be very careful as cell damage could have occurred, and
you should also monitor battery temperature when attempting to recover.
