Solved the problem.

Somehow the  "sell current limit" in the grid interface protection menu, a
hidden menu only accessed by creating a new installer login code, was set
to 7.5 a.

I reset it to the max of 30a, and the system sells normally again.

I read on an outback forum this parameter can change as a result of a
GS8048 firmware upgrade. Go figure.
