I’ve installed Hundreds upon hundreds of diesel generators at elevation here in
the mountains of NorCal. Temps down to -15F. None have needed block heaters.
For under 40KW, Wrico International. Growers were getting 20-40K hours out of
them. They are open frame. MQ Power for an off the shelf enclosed gen-set. Ray
is correct in that there aren’t any decent (low rpm, liquid cooled) propane
generators. We won’t touch the disposable propane generators like the Kohler
RES and Genercrap equivalents. Oh, Wrico does build legit <15kw propane
generators…..they cost 14K
