Remember that cable resistance isn't the only thing to think about for battery cables from inverter to batteries...

Cable inductance can matter too which is made better by keeping positive and negative cables close together and also keeping them short as possible.

HI Nick,

Yes my friend called them directly, he was working with them on this project
and they said no problem with unequal cable lenghts.

Good evening Barton and Jay,

Is this recent that Blue Planet’s tech support says not to worry about parallel
cable lengths? They’ve said for years to try and match them and it is even
noted that “All parallel battery connections to be of equal length” on the
three line diagram on page 31 of the rev 071219 B manual that they’ve been
including with the 2.0 cabinet for the last couple years. The other few
competing LiFePO4 manufacturers currently on the market mention it in their
manuals as well. Seems like an odd departure all of a sudden if you heard
otherwise? I don’t see it in the HI manual so maybe they determined it’s not
important anymore? Certainly would save a lot of copper on my BI installations
if they no longer are concerned about it. I’ve been meticulously matching
lengths for years!

Hi all

I’ve got a design for a lithium battery that has a 12’ longer run from furthest
battery vs closer battery. 6 batteries in all. So lengths go from 0-12’ plus to
the combiner/ disconnect.

What is the feeling about running different lengths vs making them all the same
length?

How would this effect use of the batteries. Tech support has said no worries.
Seems to me that physics says battery 1 gets more work than battery 6

Thanks

Jay
