Hi John, I like polyurethanes for this sort of thing. They are substantially stronger than RTV, and if you need to re-do it, you won't be left with that oily texture that nothing else will stick to. "3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4000 UV" might be a good choice, and Sikaflex also makes some really good options. One downside is that even the "fast cure" polyurethanes cure rather slowly.
If you go with RTV, look for a "neutral cure" type. Others typically off-gas acetic acid when they cure, which can corrode wiring.
