John; Have you tried a UV-setting cyanoacrylate? There are some available that cure into a pliable but very strong (and thick) clear layer. If you just have one J-box to do, a tube of "UV Wader Repair" from your local flyfishing shop might do the trick. It cures quickly in direct sunlight, or with a small UV flashlight.
