3 years in service now & no service required or needed. I installed a large -120 gallon well expansion tank as usual [Typ off grid thinking -- reduce the # of start surge] & found out it was not necessary. The start up is so tapered smooth that I could have used a 40 gal tank, when I spec another OG system I will not use an oversized storage tank. Ghost load on the controller [super smart, digital & always awake] is very slight. The controller uses a transducer not a pressure switch measures PSI in tenths of a PSI. I have not tried to measure the controller load asleep, as it is hard wired in.

Believe me I understand your comment about schlepping service to some other poor soul, but.... Is the Pentair powered with 240 Vac inverter power?
