I concur with the other writers. They have low charge efficiency, Although that is not a killer. the voltages are as David says, but the discharge drops below 1.2 volts with surges. I have heard of a battery fire with one set, perhaps it was due to low water as David suggest. They seem to need a lot of water, The only special value is they do not freeze. However the output current drops when cold.
