That is a strange panel. If you are feeding a breaker panel yes you must be farther from the line connections to the bus bar, unless the busbars are limited in the total load breakers in which case the other set of rules apply. How and what you connect depends upon the service at that point. If it is delta not wye, as you said, you have to use a true 480-volt inverter, not a 277-480 inverter. The difference is the ground connection-neutral bond. The 480 Delta could be grounded as corner ground making the legs 480, 480, 0 volts, or as a center tap 240-480-volt making the legs 240, 240, 415 volts to ground. If however, it is not a delta but a wye the legs would all be 277-volts to ground. Be sure to check voltages and with your inverter supplier so you have the correct configuration. 20% of 600 A at 480-volt 3-phase is about 100 kW. (600 x 0.2 x 480 x 1.73 = 99.600 Watts) This system will have another transformer, either single phase or 3-phase giving the 120-volt plug loads.
